A New Chapter: From Samurai Arts Academy to Vanguard Self-Defense Academy

Every dojo has a story, and like every story, there comes a time for a new chapter. After nearly a year of building memories, friendships, and achievements under the name Samurai Arts Academy – Chesterville, we are proud to share that we have officially rebranded as Vanguard Self-Defense Academy.

This decision was not made overnight. It came after months of reflection, careful thought, and deep respect for where we started. Our dojo has always been more than four walls and a few mats. It is a place where students become confident, where families grow closer, and where values like discipline, respect, and resilience are not just taught, but lived every single day.

Why the Change?

The name Vanguard carries powerful meaning. A vanguard leads the way, standing at the forefront of progress, courage, and protection. That is exactly what we strive to be for our students and our community, a guiding force that prepares people of all ages to meet life’s challenges with strength and confidence.

While we will always honor the traditions that shaped us, this rebrand allows us to look forward with clarity. Vanguard represents both the warrior spirit of martial arts and the protective, supportive role our academy plays in North Dundas and surrounding communities.
